Dream Dinner Dates — Restaurants I’m Dying to Be Spoiled At

As a GFE companion with an appetite for connection, ambiance, and indulgence, there’s something incredibly thrilling about the idea of being wined and dined somewhere I’ve never been before. If you enjoyed my last blog post, Michelin Star edition, then this one is for you.

While I’ve had my share of candlelit dinners and sweet escapes, there are still so many dreamy spots in Chicago I’m yearning to experience… with the right company, of course. Below is my personal wish list of restaurants that have completely seduced me… from afar. I haven’t been to any of these (yet), but that only makes the fantasy even sweeter. I’ve even included the dish that first caught my eye, just imagine me taking that first bite while sitting across from you, all dressed up just for us.

🥩 El Che Steakhouse & Bar

There’s something dark, smoky, and wildly masculine about El Che that just pulls me in. Wood-fired everything, sultry lighting, and Argentinian flair? Yes, please. I’m craving the Bone-In Ribeye… charred to perfection, slow and sensual, just how I imagine our night would unfold. But that’s not what drew me to this restaurant.

Wagyu Tartare and rich bone marrow, this is what drew me in. I have yet to try bone marrow, but I’ve only heard delicious things about how it tastes velvety and pairs well with a crisp piece of toast, or with wagyu tartare.

🐟 Lure Fishbar

Lure feels like a scene straight out of a James Bond film—sleek, sexy, and full of flavor. I’ve fantasized about sipping champagne here, dressed in silk, playing coy over the Miso Black Cod. That dish alone made me stop scrolling. But take a look at this…

Sea Urchin Bucatini… pasta is my all time favorite comfort dish. There’s just something so comforting and seductive about pasta… Twirl it, taste it, savor it—every bite is like a soft kiss on the lips. Creamy, spicy, or rich with truffle—I’m in love with them all.

🥃 Prime & Provisions

Old-school glamour meets modern steakhouse elegance. I’ve passed by this place so many times and always wondered what it’s like inside. Almost feels like I’m the only person in Chicago who hasn’t dined here. The dish that seduced me? The Charred Octopus. I can already hear the clink of your glass to mine.

🐻 Ralph Lauren Restaurant

Yes, I know it’s iconic. No, I haven’t been. There’s just something irresistible about the classic, tailored feel of this place—like stepping into another era. I dream of sharing the Crab Cake or indulging in their decadent Ralph’s Cheeseburger… hopefully met with a shopping spree?

🔥 Kinzie Chophouse

A hidden gem that feels like a cozy escape right in the city. The dish that caught my attention? The Filet Mignon Oscar Style, rich with lump crab and béarnaise. My eyes are set on the Chicken Terrine… it looks interesting…

This is “chicken terrine, served with chutney and toasted brioche.” Chicken is not my first go to protein but this won’t stop me from enjoying it!

🐔 Yardbird Southern Table & Bar

There’s something so endearing about Southern charm, especially when mixed with bourbon and buttery biscuits. I’m dying to try the Chicken ‘n’ Watermelon ‘n’ Waffles—it sounds like the perfect playful, indulgent start to a night that gets even better after dessert, which is me.

🍛 Mango Pickle

This modern Indian kitchen feels like a spice-scented escape. I haven’t been, but I’ve been eyeing the Butter Chicken. Isn’t that a slow-cooked, aromatic, and deeply comforting dish? I have only had the microwave version of butter chicken from Trader Joe’s, would love to try authentic Indian butter chicken.

Will You Take Me There?

These places aren’t just about food—they’re about energy, mood, and shared moments. They’re about dressing up for you, laughing over cocktails, and making memories that linger long after the plates are cleared.

If any of these restaurants have caught your eye too, maybe it’s time we make a date of it. After all, first experiences are always best when shared.
